Clifton police say that people were ejected in a single-vehicle crash that occurred early on Friday, July 31.
Car Leaves Road, Hits Pole
The police spokesman says that the wreck happened at about 3 a.m on the westbound Route 3 exit ramp to Valley Road. For unknown reasons, a 2007 Toyota Camry driven by a 20-year-old female motorist from East Orange left the road, struck a utility pole and rolled over, according to ABC 7.
Injuries and Loss of Life
There were five occupants in the vehicle at impact. Emergency personnel transported everyone to area hospitals. Two of those in the crash succumbed to their injuries, and they were pronounced dead at Saint Joseph’s Medical Center. Both victims were 21-year-old women. One is from East Orange and another is from Elizabeth.
This fatal crash remains under investigation by the Passaic County prosecutor’s office and the traffic unit of the Clifton Police Department.
