Injuries and Loss of Life
The 37-year-old male driver of the Honda from East Stroudsburg, PA, did not survive the crash, and authorities pronounced him dead at the scene. Emergency personnel transported two 14-year-old passengers to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. A teen from Centerreach, NY, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other teen, from East Stroudsburg, PA, is in critical condition, according to NorthJersey.com. The deceased teen was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to troopers.
Following the fatal wreck, troopers allegedly found drug paraphernalia in the car. A toxicology report regarding the motorist is pending. Although the investigation into this accident is ongoing, victims of certain traffic accidents do have recourse via civil litigation. When it is reasonable to claim that negligent conduct was a factor in a crash, it is possible for victims to seek compensation for medical expenses, lost wages and pain-and-suffering. The parties reach an agreement in many such cases without the need for a trial.
